Game Journals
Interiors
Three different interiors are available. The One Per Page style provides room for 8 different player names and has lots of room for comments, enough even for a play-by-play, if desired. The Two Per Page style has room to record details about two games on each page, with room for 6 players and space for 4 lines of comments, perfect for noting the most important details. The Lined style has light-colored blank lines, with room to write anything you'd like.
With 120 pages in the journal, 120 (One Per Page) or 240 (Two Per Page) game plays can be easily recorded. In addition, four pages at the beginning of each journal are designed to allow you to summarize plays on a game-by-game basis (except for the Lined style). You'll choose one when you order.
Here are colored illustrations of all three types, with examples of how each section is used. Click on the illustrations for pop-up larger views of sample pages.
A. Game Information
Use this section to enter any information about the game you'd like, including its name, any expansions, the version (if there's more than one), etc.
B. Where and When
This section provides space for the place the game was played, the day and date, and if desired, the beginning, ending, and elapsed time. Recording the elapsed time sometimes yields surprises, as some games take a lot longer than they seem, others just the opposite.
C. Players

Here's where you record information about the players. The One Per Page style has room for 8 players, and the Two Per Page style has room for 6 (if necessary, you can always add extra players right below this section, at the beginning of the comments).
At left is room for the players' names, of course. Following that is a checkbox where you can indicate that this player is new to the game. Next is space to indicate teams in team/partnership games: we recommend putting letters next to teammates (A, B, C) for easy reference. Then comes space to indicate the players' starting positions (1, 2, 3, etc.), which can provide some interesting information if you later review several playings of the same game, seeking patterns.
Following that is space to record the final scores or the final placement (1st, 2nd, etc.). Then comes another checkbox, this one for indicating the winner. Last comes a place to record optional player ratings of the game, commonly on a 1 to 10 scale.
D. Comments

In our One Per Page style we provide 17 lines for writing all kinds of details about the game play. Our Two Per Page style offers 4 lines for each game, enough to jot down a quick summary or a few player comments.
E. Goodie

Every page includes a unique “Goodie,” either a quote about games, or a game rule, a graphical portion of a game title, or a picture of a face from a game box, where you're challenged to name the source. See the Goodies page for more information on the three different sets of goodies now available.
F. Page Number
Page numbering allows you to easily refer in your comments back to previous playings of the same or other games.
